MyRecipes ("we", "us") is a recipe-saving and meal-planning app. This page explains what data we
collect when you use it, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and, if you set one, your name. Collected
via our authentication provider, Clerk, when you sign up or sign in (including via Google Sign-In,
if you use it).
- Content you create — recipes, ingredients, steps, images, tags, grocery lists,
and meal plans you save or import.
- Household data — if you invite others to share a household, we store who's in it
and what they've shared with it.
- Billing information — if you purchase premium access, payment is processed directly
by Stripe. We store a reference to your Stripe customer record, but your card details never touch
our servers.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads or ad-tracking scripts.
- We don't use third-party analytics or behavioral tracking.
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to run the app:
- Clerk — authentication (including Google Sign-In, if used)
- Stripe — payment processing for premium purchases
- Cloudflare — hosting, database, and image storage
- Kroger — only if you connect a Kroger-family account (such as Kroger or Ralphs);
see below
We don't share your data with anyone else.
Recipes you share by link. If you create a share link for a recipe, anyone who has
that link can view the recipe (its title, photo, ingredients, steps, notes, and source link) without
signing in, and MyRecipes users can save a copy. Shared pages are marked so search engines don't index
them. Turning the link off, or deleting the recipe, stops the link working straight away; copies other
people already saved stay in their accounts.
Connecting a Kroger or Ralphs account
If you choose to connect a Kroger-family store account to fill your cart from a grocery list,
you sign in on Kroger's own page and approve access there. MyRecipes never sees your Kroger
password.
- What we store. We store the access tokens Kroger gives us, encrypted, linked to
your MyRecipes account. We use them only to add the items you pick to your cart.
- What we send to Kroger. The grocery item names you ask us to match, your ZIP code
when you look up a store, and the products and quantities you choose to add.
- What we don't store. Your searches, product matches, cart contents, and chosen
store aren't saved on our servers. Your chosen store is remembered only in your own browser.
- What we can't do. MyRecipes can only add items to your cart. It can't see your
orders, purchase history, or payment details, and it can't check out for you.
- Disconnecting. Choosing Disconnect deletes your Kroger tokens right away. They're
also deleted if Kroger stops accepting them (for example, if you revoke access in your Kroger account)
or if you delete your MyRecipes account.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. To request deletion of your
account and associated data, email us at privacy@getmyrecipes.app.
